No, you’re not eligible for optional Hire Car Cover if you’ve held your driving licence for less than 12 months. To qualify for Hire Car Cover, you need to be;

• At least 18 years old

• Hold a full UK driving licence

• Have had your licence for at least 12 months

This requirement also applies to any named drivers on the policy. If a named driver hasn’t held a full UK driving licence for at least 12 months and/or is under 18 years old, they won’t be allowed to use the hire car.
